Using SuperSpeller
These terms are between you and SuperSpeller LLC ("we" or "us") and cover your use of the SuperSpeller Mac app and website. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you use SuperSpeller for an organisation, you must have permission to act on its behalf.
SuperSpeller provides spelling corrections and writing suggestions using an AI model on your Mac. The app requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later. Support for text fields and suggestion placement varies between apps.
You choose whether to grant Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions and whether to enable clipboard context or learning. Our privacy policy explains these features and the information handled by the app and website.
The free trial
The trial lasts seven days (168 hours) from first launch. It does not require signup, payment details, or an internet connection, and it does not automatically turn into a paid purchase.
After the trial ends, typing assistance stops until you activate a valid license. Settings, history deletion, software updates, and license management remain available. Reinstalling the app or deleting writing history does not restart the trial.
Buying and using a license
A SuperSpeller license currently costs US$15.99 as a one-time payment. There is no subscription. The license has no scheduled expiry and allows activation on up to two Macs. Check the total, currency, and any taxes shown at checkout before paying.
Lemon Squeezy handles checkout and payment. Any purchase terms shown at checkout also apply to that transaction. Keep your receipt and license key safe.
Your license gives you permission to use the app on Macs you own or control, within the activation limit. It does not transfer ownership of the app. Do not publish, resell, or share your license key to let others bypass that limit.
To move an activation, choose Deactivate This Mac in the app's license settings before activating another Mac. Contact support if you no longer have access to an activated Mac.
License checks and offline access
Writing suggestions run locally. License activation and verification need an internet connection. The app checks paid licenses daily when running online, and a successfully verified license works offline for up to 30 days.
If the app cannot verify your license within that period, paid typing assistance pauses until verification succeeds. A license that the service explicitly reports as invalid or revoked stops providing paid access immediately. Any time left on your original trial remains available.
Use Retry Verification in license settings to reconnect. These checks do not send your writing to the license service.
Your writing and use of the app
You keep your rights in the writing you enter. SuperSpeller does not claim ownership of your writing or generated suggestions. You are responsible for deciding whether you have the right to use and share the final text.
AI suggestions can be wrong, inappropriate, or similar to text produced for someone else. Read suggestions before accepting them and check important information before relying on it.
Use the app and website lawfully. Do not use them to infringe other people's rights, distribute malware, disrupt the service, or bypass license controls. These restrictions do not limit rights that applicable law gives you and that cannot be excluded.
Included software and model terms
SuperSpeller includes open-source software and the Gemma 3 model. Those components have their own licenses and notices, which are included in the app. Their licenses continue to apply to those components.
Gemma is subject to the Gemma Terms of Use. You must not use it for the restricted uses in the Gemma Prohibited Use Policy or in violation of applicable laws and regulations. These use restrictions are incorporated into these terms. Copies are available in the app through General settings.
Problems, refunds, and your rights
If you have a problem with the app or a purchase, contact support with your order reference and a description of the issue. Do not send card details or your full license key. You can also use the support options on your Lemon Squeezy receipt.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or changes consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. Depending on the problem and the law that applies, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund, or other remedy.
The ACCC explains Australian consumer rights and guarantees. Rights in other countries may also apply.
Availability and updates
Software can contain errors, and the app may change as we fix problems. We cannot promise that suggestions will always be accurate or that the app will work in every text field. Keep backups of important documents.
Updates may change features or system requirements. Review release notes before installing an update. Online services used for downloads, checkout, support, and license checks may sometimes be unavailable.
These practical limits do not remove any consumer guarantee or liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.
Stopping use and changes to terms
You can stop using SuperSpeller at any time. Delete any learning you want to remove and deactivate your Mac before uninstalling if you want to free its license slot. Uninstalling does not automatically delete the trial or license record in Keychain.
We may update these terms as the app or services change and will revise the date above. Changes do not remove rights you already have under your purchase or applicable law. Contact us if you have a question or dispute about these terms.
